The main objective of teacher education is to train and produce teachers with good personal, professional, social and moral qualities.
Teachers are to acquire knowledge, teaching skills and practice moral values to conform with teaching profession and to fulfill the aims and aspirations of the Education Vision for 21st century.
The Conceptual Model of Teacher Education gives priority to accountability to three major dimensions, namely, religion, community and self
Religion (Divinity): To promote the level of knowledge, belief, experience, individual practice with respect to religious teaching.
(Society): To emphasize the teacherís role as an educationist, leader
Self: To build self-esteem, patriotism, knowledge, personality and good manners.
This model is based on a firm belief in God and a desire to grow the community. This is to be achieved through the execution of a curriculum which integrates the aspects of knowledge, professional skills and teaching ethics.
The curriculum for the Specialist Teachersí Training Certificate Course (known locally as Kursus Sijil Perguruan Khas - KSPK ) is a one year course majoring in art education and aims to produce primary school teachers who are specially equipped with the knowledge and skills in the teaching and learning of visual arts.

i. express themselves though several forms of visual arts
ii. build and develop aesthetic awareness, perceptual sensitivity as well as creative and imaginative thinking through various activities of visual arts
iii. cultivate and practice good moral values.
iv. apply skills, approaches, strategies and current techniques in the teaching and learning of visual arts
